Mail function is enabled by default in server. We keep it disable to prevent spamming.  You must take the actions given below to use mail function and keep your website free from malicious threat and spam.

 

1. Contact Form spamming Protection:

Use captcha in contact form of your website. You can use plugin to integrate captche in your contact form. We suggest you to use reCAPTCHA to avoid spamming.

Wordpress:

Example: If you are using Contact Form 7 for your wordpress site, you can use Contact Form 7 Captcha plugin with it. Or you can try other plugins such as WPForms and so on.

3. User account Registration spamming Protection:

Use email verification system to verify users who completes registration from your website. If you do not need the registration page you can simply disable it to avoid spamming. To avoid spamming follow any of the process given below:

Wordpress:

Process 1: To disable new users from registering, login to your site and visit the General Settings page. In the settings page, you’ll find the Membership option where you can uncheck the Anyone can register box to disable registration.

Process 2: Login to cPanel > PHPMyAdmin > select database, go to wordpress options then replace 1 with 0 in front of "users_can_register". Press GO to save.

 

4. Comment Spamming Protection:

Disable commenting or comment spamming protection: 

Wordpress:

To disable it, log into wordpress dashboard and go to Settings » Discussion from the left sidebar. Now you need to uncheck the option "Allow people to post comments on new articles" and then click on the Save Changes button to save it. Also uncheck "Automatically close comments on articles older than 14 days". This will close the comments form after 14 days automatically. 

You can also use plugins to avoid comment spamming. Akismet is one of the best plugins for dealing with spam comments which you get built in on wordpress.

 

5. Secure your email address from Email spam bot:

Don't use plain text email address on your website. Use obfuscated email address in your website..
